The added value of China's copyright
industry reached 6.63 trillion yuan ($951 billion) in 2018, accounting
for 7.37 percent of the country's GDP, according to the China Academy of
Press and Publication Tuesday.
The
industry's added value in 2018 increased 9 percent over the previous
year and 55 percent from 2013, showed a report recently issued by the
academy.
New industrial forms
including news and publication, broadcasting, software and advertising
sped up integration, pushing for fast development of the core copyright
industry, the report said.
Nearly
16.46 million people were employed by urban units in the industry in
2018, accounting for 9.53 percent of all the employees at urban units,
the report said.
In 2018, the trade volume of commodities in the industry rose 5.66 percent from 2017, the second consecutive annual growth.
